Puppy living with smoking in the house for 2 weeks
My puppy is staying at my in law’s house for two weeks. They are smokers and their house wreaks of smoke. It’s all over the walls, floors, and furniture. I don’t know what to do.
Second hand smoke (SHS) is not only a problem for us and our children, but also for our pets. Pets often spend lots of time in the home and are closer to the carpet than we are so get more exposure to particles on the ground. If a place is poorly ventilated SHS can irritate the eyes, nasal passages, throat and lungs. Cigarette buts can also cause nicotine toxicity if eaten, and potentially be fatal in small dogs.
A smoke-free area is the only way to be confident they are protected from its potentially hazardous effects.
