Can my 11 month chihuahua get pregnant when she is not on heat? Her heat ended in May and I’m concerned about her being around male dogs

Dogs can only get pregnant when they are in season, on average they have two per year. Most dogs bleed at the start of a season, but some don’t.

Bitches who aren’t in heat are not attractive to males and the females won’t stand for the males either.  At the time of her season she can certainly become pregnant if she mates with an entire male, and as such needs to be kept secure and not free to roam with entire males.

If you’re not planning to breed your Chihuahua, this is a great time to get her desexed.
