4yr old male Boston terrier’s testicles have decreased in size and his semen has changed in colour and is now clear. Do you have any ideas why this would happen?
Testicular atrophy can be due to many causes, such as endocrine conditions or chronic steroid use, and problems within the testicle.
A hands-on examination from your local vet would be a great place to start. They may even recommend a blood and urine test as a great way to assess your dog’s base health.
They will also need to collect and evaluate the equality of the semen.
Depending on these findings and if you’re wanting to pursue breeding with this guy a biopsy of the testicle is the best approach to work out the cause and what that means for him in terms of recovery etc.
