Can I give an 8 week old kitten a dry food only diet?

You can give an 8 week old kitten dry food but it may require a period of transition where the food is moistened with water or fresh chicken stick for example.
Kitten food must be a balanced food that is suitable for this particular life stage and for your individual cat. An imbalanced diet can cause major deficiencies when fed exclusively.
It’s also important to weigh your kitty every day to ensure there’s weight gain––it’s the best way to assess healthy growth. You also need to monitor that they can go to the toilet normally.
As it’s a dehydrated food, fresh water must always available (this is true for every pet regardless of what they eat of course, but dry food eaters do have higher water intake requirements than wet food eaters do.
