Dog ate 5 Tbsp coconut oil last night and is happy but not eating much this morning
Because of its high fat content, coconut oil can be problematic for your dog. It all depends on the amount of coconut oil eaten, the size of your dog and it’s individual susceptibility to it.
Signs that coconut oil ingestion can cause are: fatty diarrhoea, tummy pain, vomiting, and it can trigger pancreatitis (this involves pain – panting, a tense tummy, not wanting to eat and often vomiting).
If your dog is showing any of these signs, he needs a hands-on vet examination immediately.
