My cat shows gastro symptoms when I have lilies at work. I don’t bring them home but can me being around them affect him?

That’s interesting that you’ve found a correlation with your cats gastro and you having lilies at work, I haven’t heard this before.

Lilies are toxic to cats and can cause kidney disease, it’s not known how much causes toxicity nor what specifically in the plant is the problem so when they are exposed to lilies its best to treat them straight away. Even a cat who gets the pollen on their coat and then licks it off can be affected.

It’s great that you’re not bringing lilies into the home, you just being around them at work, and not bringing them home, shouldn’t affect your cat. Read more from our blog on lilies and cats here for further information.
