Will a human (urine) drug test strip show if a dog has ingested marijuana?

Human urine drug test strips can be used to test dogs for marijuana ingestion however from my research (I actually haven’t used them myself) a positive is fairly reliable but there are tons of false negatives.

So a negative result on the strip doesn’t actually rule out marijuana ingestion.

Clinical signs of marijuana ingestion are suggestive:

• Unable to walk properly (ataxia),
• Vomiting,
• Wide eyes,
• Depression,
• Often low heart rate and low temperature.

It usually resolves within 48 hours, but without a positive urine test or a confession of the possibility of drug ingestion other conditions need to be ruled out as a possible cause by your local veterinarian.
