My cat attempts to clean herself but when she licks herself she looks as if she’s licked something sour and stops, is there any reason you can think of for this?

A few possibilities for your girl. It may be painful for her to get into the position she wants to, to be able to groom herself properly. There could also be something bad tasting on your cat’s fur, or even that there is something sore in your cat’s mouth.
