My 7 year old Persian has been lethargic and vomiting for a couple days she hasn’t eaten or had anything to drink. She is sad.
Vomiting or not eating for more than 24 hours is a serious concern.
Both are really just symptoms that can be the result of many underlying causes. These will lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalance which need to be corrected.
In this case, we really need to find the cause of the vomiting and the no appetite so that we can treat your cat’s problem (not just the symptoms). This will help us reach the best treatment plan.
A hands-on examination from your local vet as soon as possible would be a great place to start.
They may recommend a blood and urine test as a great way to assess your cat’s base health. Abdominal imaging (such as radiography and ultrasound) is also often used in cases of vomiting.
If you’d like to chat in person, you can book a live video call or start a chat to discuss in more detail, as soon as possible.
